Conspiracy Theory… Elenin.

Like most people, I love a good conspiracy theory. They provide colorful entertainment to reality. As much as people try to provide “evidence” to their claims it’s likely they are trying to convince their self as well as everyone else.

Conspiracy theories more often than not have to do with the government. These I find most interesting and entertaining. There are times when someone will present actual proof and evidence of an politician’s wrong doings or a clear ‘miscommunication’ at the highest levels of government that leads to some unnecessary war. But aside from that, it’s a lot of opinions, and “I was told by ‘someone important'” information that really stirs the conspiracies and gets everyone hyped up. It takes an objective person to eventually decipher the b.s. from the legit information.

Currently there is the comet Elenin conspiracy that has gained widespread attention. The conspiracy is as follows (the story often varies, but this is the gist of it): Comet Elenin is not a comet. It is the planet Nibiru that is going to in one way or another bring catastrophe to the planet Earth. World wide earthquakes are to be expected, as well a shifting of our north and south poles. The planet Earth is going to be basically scorched from massive sun rays. All the major governments of the world already know this and have built underground bunkers so that only the richest of the Rich, and the most powerful people of the planet will be protected and survive the end of the world…as we now know it. Basically the scariest parts of the Bible. The idea that the US government knows all this is linked to the fact that the U.S. economy is in such rapid decline.Oh, and it’s suppose to really get bad by the end of September 2011. Sept. 26, 2011 to be exact.

It’s by far the most elaborate dooms day conspiracy theory I personally have ever heard. It’s pretty frightening stuff that is put out on the internet about this comet Elenin and what’s to be come of our planet with in a months time.

Now, there are folks out there who really believe this is going on. There are people who believe the U.S. government is really about to throw them under the bus, and not give so much as a warning. But, if people really believed this to be true, wouldn’t they be doing more than just making videos about it and posting them to youtube, or going on conspiracy theory forums and posting more information they found while surfing the net. In fact, if people really believed their government was keeping them in the dark about the End of the World wouldn’t there be riots all across the country? The same people who believe our planet Earth is going to be rocked and turned upside down starting within a months time are the same people going to work and paying their bills and taxes. Just goes to show people don’t really believe what they are selling. If I ever thought for a second that the world was going to end in a month or two, I would not spend that time online trying to scare the living hell out of everyone else. Think about it.
